Our clinic has an established dispensary for patients with acute and chronic changes of the oral mucosa, which represent the precursors of malignant neoplasms or can turn into such in case of prolonged existence. In addition to routine control, consultation and treatment of patients, e.g. with so-called leukoplakia, lichen etc., outpatient laser surgical operations are also performed, for which a corresponding modern CO2 laser is available.

In addition, we have a state-of-the-art IPL-LASER (intense pulsed light). Pulsed light penetrates the tissue and hits color carriers (so-called chromophores). These are damaged by the light and then broken down by the body. Reddish pigmented skin changes (e.g. rosacea, haemangiomas, etc.) can be treated with little pain. Dark pigmented changes, such as unwanted hairgrowth or so-called age spots, can be removed. As a positive side effect, the skin gets a more even and youthful appearance.

The Nd:YAG laser is a so-called solid-state laser. The emitted light pulses can selectively affect colors and structures even under the skin surface due to the set wavelength and is so precise that surrounding structures are spared. The Nd:YAG laser is suitable for the removal of hair and tattoos, vascular skin changes and smaller pigmented tumors due to its wide range of applications.

Other areas of application include tongue and lip frenulum, benign neoplasms of the mucosa and gums, pre-prosthetic surgery, laser treatment after implant restoration, to name but a few.

Vascular malformations (hemangiomas, lymphangiomas) of the head and neck are treated in interdisciplinary collaboration with the University's Center for Pediatrics.
