The pediatric cardiology functional area covers almost the entire spectrum of non-invasive diagnostics for patients with congenital and acquired heart defects. This includes echocardiography, ECG, (bicycle) stress ECG, spiroergometry, long-term ECG, long-term blood pressure measurement as well as the diagnosis and therapy of cardiac arrhythmias. For the most part, we treat our inpatients with corresponding questions or patients from the numerous special consultations as well as in neonatology.

In addition, patients are presented after referral from their family doctor or pediatrician. In most cases, this is done on an outpatient basis after an appointment has been made. For some issues (necessary more extensive diagnostics, telemetric monitoring, medication adjustment, etc.) a short inpatient stay on one of our wards is required. For patients who require invasive diagnostics or interventional or surgical therapy, we work closely with the Children's Heart Center Leipzig and then also provide post-interventional or post-operative care.
